Where I live - St Anne’s history

St. Anne’s - a fascinating history Headroomgate Farm where my wife Karen and I live appears in Peter Shakeshaft’s recently published new book entitled  St Annes On The Sea: A History. There have been numerous farms in the area – many having had several names.  This book is a ‘must read’ for every local resident and would make an idea Christmas present. Peter’s excellent book provides fascinating insights into St. Anne’s on the Sea. Copies can be obtained from Amazon, or directly from Peter Shakeshaft at 219 Church Rd., St Anne’s, FY8 3NN.    Copies are also available from Book Bargains and WH Smith - so support your local shops too!

Town Council opt for bigger venue re ‘Queensway’ plans discussion

The meeting of the St. Anne’s Town Council to consider the Kensington Developments planning application for 1,150 houses off Queensway is to be held on Wednesday 10th December at 2:30pm at St Margaret’s Church Community Centre, St Leonard’s Road West, St Anne’s.

This meeting is open to the public and often the Town Council allows time for a session where people can have their say on agenda items. The Town’s Mayor, Cllr. Barbara Mackenzie will preside, and the Queensway application is the first item on the agenda so it will take up the first part of the meeting.

The Town Council will debate what is probably the most important planning application in St Anne’s for a long time.
